ACTIVE COOLING DURING INTER-FACILITY TRANSPORTATION OF A POST CARDIAC ARREST PATIENT: A CASE REPORT

FEBRUARY 2015 - VOL.9 | CASE REPORT
Background:

Therapeutic hypothermia and systematic post cardiac arrest care has demonstrated improved outcomes among out  of  hospital  cardiac  arrest  patients.  The transport team served as a referral facility for hypothermia  and  post  cardiac arrest care. We have also provided inter-facility transportation for cooling patients. Active  cooling during transportation is not our routine. With varied in mode and    time of transportation and several limitations our present study aims to report the results of active cooling management of these patient with targeted temperature machine (TTM). In 2013, we have seven post cardiac arrest patients treated with therapeutic hypothermia, 3 of 7 cases survived with cerebral performance category (CPC) 1; defined as CPC 1 (good cerebral performance normal life).
