ADULT ONSET IMMUNODEFICIENCY ASSOCIATED WITH ANTI-INTERFERON GAMMA AUTOANTIBODIES

FEBRUARY 2017 - VOL.13 | REVIEWS ARTICLE

Adult onset immunodeficiency associated with anti-interferon-gamma autoantibodies is an emerging medical issue worldwide especially in South-east Asia. Most patients present with disseminated non-tuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) infection and other opportunistic infections. In addition to standard antimicrobial therapy, immunomodulator or immunosuppressive drug seem to play a role in some cases. In the present study, we thoroughly reviewed the pathogenesis, clinical features, laboratory diagnosis, modalities of treatment, and clinical outcomes of this condition.
